What an HVAC permit-design scope can include
Depending on the building, municipality and accepted responsibility, the permit package can include:

Do HVAC drawings include equipment installation?
No. Permit design and installation are different scopes. The contractor remains responsible for installation, means and methods, commissioning and required trade obligations.
Can you work from an existing furnace or rooftop unit?
Yes when reliable equipment information and site conditions are available, but capacity, condition and suitability must be assessed within the accepted design scope.
What if the city sends mechanical comments?
